No, it is not a job - it is still a quote.
When you submit your quote, you are simply sending it to us for validation.
Your quote remains a quote until a deposit is received.
Smart Cabinets are made up of numerous parts, and each part size varies in price depending on the cabinet's size (custom height, width and depth dimensions).
Furthermore, there are further customizable add-ons, such as: type of hinges, drawer runners, and handle options - which also affect the price. The cabinet/s can have kick boards, seen (applied) side panels and/or fillers included.
Finally, there is the material choice (colour & material selection) - all these factors affect the final cabinet price.
Our minimum order quantity is...... Well, let's just say it depends on many factors, not just one. We are unable to give a blanket cover answer for this question that covers every situation. This is why every quote submitted needs to be validated by our staff, and only if required, adjusted accordingly.
All the prices advertised on the website for cabinetry, panels, bench tops, etc have been calculated on your order being a medium to large order (typically 10 to 15+ cabinets, plus panels and kick-boards as well). This is the size of a typical order we receive from Builders, Cabinetmakers, etc. that use our website, and our pricing matrix must fit within this criteria. This ensures the pricing is competitive, fair and correct. Pricing for smaller orders is different, and this is discussed in more detail further below.
Note: We are not a small order specialist company, nor is our price matrix set up this way. Our aim is to provide high quality, custom sized cabinets, at extremely competitive prices.
Unlike other modular or set-sized flat pack suppliers, we don't mass produce the exact same cabinet (only to have them sitting on a shelf waiting for someone to buy them).
We custom manufacture every order to your specific sizes, so that makes us more a bespoke/boutique manufacturer. Whilst this makes the production costs higher per job (compared to making 100's of the same sized cabinets), it also means we don't need warehouses all across Australia to store them. As money is not tied up in inventory, we save money, and the savings are passed on to the customer.
No, sorry.
We are a flat pack manufacturing business, not a hardware supply business. We can supply hardware, but only in conjunction with an ordered cupboard.
No, sorry.
Time frames for small orders are more difficult to judge, as it depends on what jobs we have in the system at the time the deposit is received. You may need to wait until your job can be combined with a larger order of the same material.
Note:Â Tiny orders are not our market, nor what we are set-up to do. We are a bespoke flat pack manufacturer and everything runs-to-order, so we will first need to determine whether we can do this job in the first place, before we can estimate any approximate time frames.
A 25% deposit is an acceptance of the order and will get your job underway.
Explained here:Â Payment Methods
Explained here:Â Job Acceptance Terms & Conditions
Time frames are based on the lead time of the materials ordered, the batching & optimising of jobs, and how busy the factory outlet is at the time of the processed order.
The following are typical estimated lead times (from deposit received to ready in the factory):
- 2-3 weeks - Carcass Only / Robe Insert Finishes
- 3 weeks - Commodity Laminate Colours (stock colours from the drop down menu)
- 3-4 weeks - 'Your Choice' Colour Laminate Finishes (colours entered into the 'Special Request' box)
- 4-5 weeks - Laminate Bench Tops
- 5-6 weeks - Vinyl Finishes / Sliding Wardrobe Doors & Tracks / Sharknose Edged Melamine Doors
- 8+ weeks - Poly Painted Finishes (there is an extra process of spray painting, so it depends on how busy the spray painters are at the time the order is placed).
Note: Leads times also depend on material availability, current workloads of the factory at the time the order is placed, peak order times (e.g. Easter or the lead up to Christmas) and shut down times of the year (e.g. Christmas break, COVID-19 shutdown restrictions).
Tip: If you have other trades to organise, we recommend that you do not firm up any dates with them, until you have received confirmation of your order being ready and complete in our factory.

The internals of the cupboards and the underside of upper cupboards will always be quoted as 'White', unless you have specifically requested it and have had your quote adjusted and priced accordingly.
Note: Any other requested colour (other than white) will cost quite a bit more.
This is explained here:
Wardrobe inserts will always be quoted as 'White', unless you have specifically requested it and have had your quote adjusted and priced accordingly.
Note: Any other requested colour (other than white) will cost quite a bit more.
If your quote has 'disappeared', this normally occurs because you have left your quote inactive for a period (greater than 20 minutes), and the online session timer has timed out. For example, if you have gone to lunch and have not saved your quote before you stopped working on it, then when you return from lunch, your un-saved quote will be gone.
Note:Â Unsaved quotes are not retrievable.
TIP: The best way to save your quote is (after you have added a few cabinets) > Create a log-in account > then SAVE your quote. Then at anytime, you can securely log back on and edit/add to your quote as you need to.

Our products are water resistant, but not water proof, so they are not recommended for outdoor use.
Note: We hope to have Alfresco type materials available to order in the future.
Yes, this is true.
Dark laminate colours are more likely to show up even the slightest imperfection or light scratches. This is because the colour you see is actually just a printed piece of paper, and if this gets scratched or marked (remember it's only paper thick), then the white background comes through. If the colour is a light off-white colour, then with a white background you probably wouldn't even notice this at all. However, with a dark colour on a white background, the light white is highlighted.
Gloss laminate finishes are more reflective to light, so fingerprints, dirt, imperfections and scratches are more noticeable on them than on matt or semi-gloss finishes.
Note: A scratched laminate is not repairable.
No, sorry.
As we are an online business (not a traditional 'bricks and mortar' type business), we don't have showrooms in all states. We only have the one showroom, and this is based at our central administration office in Mitchell (ACT).
The reason why we haven't invested in showrooms all over Australia, is because our builders and other trades people don't want the extra cost added to the price of their flat packs (as they don’t need it).
Our primary aim is to provide the highest possible quality, but at the lowest possible price.
Most colour sample swatches can be posted directly from the manufacturer of the actual laminate. If you select the samples you would like, they will post them out to you free of charge!

The depots and factories are pick up outlets only.
All enquiries are via OzFlatPacks web central.
Yes, everything is made to your exact order - we do not stock anything on the shelves.
We offer both, so the choice is yours.
Explained here: Delivery/Pickup
Delivery is based on both weight and distance. Once you start to add your cabinets to your quote, the website will calculate the estimated weight, and then once you select your post code for delivery, the website will automatically provide you with a freight estimation.
Explained here: Delivery/Pickup
Pick-up is FREE, provided you have selected a 'Factory Outlet' (as this is where the cabinetry is made).
If you are not close enough to a Factory Outlet, your job needs to be packaged (a special, custom made box is required) and on-freighted (via a national freight company) to a Depot near you, so there is a direct cost involved. Freighting a flat pack is not like posting a DVD or book, as the weight is considerably higher, and so we must use national freight companies.
Note: The cost of the Depot pick-up depends on the weight, the distance from the Factory and the Depot type.
Well, that's easy, it's the longest part or cabinet you have ordered.
If you ordered a storage pantry cabinet 2350mm high x 1150mm long, then the longest part is 2350mm and the widest part is 1150mm.
So you will need to ensure that (as a minimum), your method of transport can cope with this size.
A base cabinet underneath a bench top is typically 580mm deep (or 20mm less than the bench top depth), creating a 20mm front bench top overhang forward from the door face.
Larger or smaller widths can be ordered to your exact measurements.
Our range of cabinetry is easy to assemble, as all the cabinets come pre-drilled, individually labelled, and each order is supplied with an assembly and hardware list for cross-referencing. This means you will be able to understand which screw goes where - this is unique to OzFlatPacks!.
An average cabinet takes approximately 20 minutes to assemble, and a typical pantry cabinet takes approximately 40 minutes.
Installation is easy as the plastic feet are all adjustable, and as the cupboard backs are solid 16mm board, finding a fixing point in the cabinet is easy. You can fix anywhere internally (unlike some of our competitors that still have 3mm cheap ply style backing).

Yes, however this service is only available for Canberra Factory pick up jobs.
Once you submit your quote and it has been validated, then you can request an Assembled Price.
900mm is the traditional bench top height (inclusive of the bench top thickness), but we are finding these days that taller heights are preferred. They are typically somewhere between 920-950mm high.
With OzFlatPacks you can nominate the exact size that suits you, so custom sizing heights is simple and not expensive.
TIP: Decide what overall finished bench top height you would like your joinery to be, then deduct the thickness of your bench top and the desired height of your kickboard. The balance is the base cupboard height that you would order.
2350mm high for a single tall cupboard (e.g. a pantry/wall oven tower), however if you stack another upper wall cabinet on top of this, you can easily achieve much greater heights.
With our range, you can achieve the exact height (to the millimetre) that you need - it's easy.
We supply Wardrobes, Bench Tops, Oven Cabinets, Microwave Cabinets, Corner Cabinets, Corner Pantries, Diagonal Cabinets, Broom Cabinets, Open Shelves, Blind Corner Cabinets, Carcass Only Cabinets, Appliance Cabinets (just to name a few).
TIP: If our range of cabinets do not quite meet your needs, please request it in the 'Special Requests' box, and we will review your request and advise.
